In a line that will probably grow as the week goes on, Michigan football has opened as an 11-point favorite over Indiana next Saturday, according to OddsShark.com.
The line was released one day following the Wolverines’ 49-16 win over Rutgers and Indiana’s 27-35 loss to undefeated Iowa.
The ESPN Football Power Index (FPI) gives Michigan an 86.4 percent chance to beat the Hoosiers, who are surrendering 504 yards (120th in FBS) and 37 points per game (115th in FBS) this season.
Indiana is 4-5 against the spread this season, while Michigan is 5-4.
This game carries significant weight for both teams: the Wolverines need to continue winning in order to stay in the hunt in the Big Ten East, and the Hoosiers need two more wins still to become bowl eligible (a sad fact considering Indiana started the season 4-0).
