It’s still in play, but the Wolverines would need to first beat Ohio State at noon ET next Saturday and then hope like hell Penn State can beat the Spartans in East Lansing at 3:30 p.m. ET.
It’s going be a very similar setup to what we just went through.
If things play out like they should next week, it doesn’t matter who wins in Ann Arbor because Michigan State will be punching its ticket to the Big Ten title game later that day anyway. But there’s still a lot on the line for the Wolverines.
If that’s indeed what ends up happening, Michigan State would go on to play Iowa in the title game, and the loser of that would likely drop below a 10-2 Michigan team in the College Football Playoff rankings.
