Oak Park two-way lineman Rayshaun Benny cherished every down in Friday’s first-round upset of top-seeded Grosse Pointe South in the 2020 Michigan high school football playoffs, and he wasn’t afraid to show it.
The 6-foot-5, 275-pound senior was a big factor in the Knights’ first win of the year. Lining up at left tackle, Benny cleared holes which directly resulted in three rushing touchdowns. On defense, he had 1.5 third-down sacks and a tackle for a loss, all of which squelched South drives in the 35-27 upset.
