The deal between the University of Michigan and Nike has been done for some time. However, the potential 11-year, $173 million deal was just finalized today, according to Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press and it’s a deal that could have big implications for Michigan football.
Of course it’s never a bag thing to sign one of richest apparel deals in the history of college sports, but on the other hand, it isn’t anything new. Many schools have big contracts, including, you guessed it, Ohio State.
However, there is one detail of the new Nike contract that will, at least for the time being, put Michigan football is a category all by itself.
