Michigan Football: Jim Harbaugh Didn’t Jab at D.J. Durkin

Everyone seemed to be set off when Jim Harbaugh told WXYZ-TV’s Brad Galli that he was out to find a better coach than D.J. Durkin, and that he thinks he’s done just that by hiring Don Brown away from Boston College.

That was a “jab” at Durkin, as some saw it.

In all reality though, it’s just the manifestation of a coaching philosophy. Harbaugh isn’t actually taking public shots at former assistants. That’d be absurd.

And doesn’t it go without saying that you want to find an even better coach than the one you had before?
