Michigan football is rekindling its recruiting relationship with Ohio.
The school’s past two Heisman Trophy winners, Charles Woodson and Desmond Howard, came from the state. Jim Harbaugh’s 2016 team — which was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation — featured Ohioans such as Jake Butt, Taco Charlton and Chris Wormley.
An examination of Harbaugh’s first four recruiting classes, though, reveals a low number of signees from Ohio. In 2015, Michigan signed Nolan Ulizio, Tyree Kinnel and Andrew David, who has since transferred to TCU. In 2017, the Wolverines signed James Hudson, Joel Honigford and Brad Robbins.
