Throughout the course of the offseason, whenever a Michigan football player spoke publicly, the subtle remarks about how different the offense might look in 2018 inevitably came out. Plenty began to speculate about radical changes, perhaps a true spread system.
Others believed, if nothing else, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh would tailor his offense to best fit new quarterback Shea Patterson — whose entire career had been rooted in an up-tempo spread system.
