Michigan football freshman WR Roman Wilson uses speed to fill Nico Collins-sized void

As a child, Roman Wilson was the “fast kid at school” and on his Pop Warner team.

And while the native of Hawaii finds himself in a much larger pond as a freshman receiver for Michigan football, not much has changed.

Wilson, who ran a laser-timed 4.37 second 40-yard dash in high school, is among the fastest players on the team — perhaps even within the Big Ten. That speed is helping him make plays as a key member of the Wolverines' youthful receiving corps.

Through three games, Wilson has eight catches for 118 yards (third-most on the team) and a touchdown.
