This was supposed to be a pivotal spring for Michigan football.
Coming off a 9-4 season, it had plenty of starting positions to fill. Spring practices would have gone a long way toward determining who held an advantage in those open spots.
Instead, Michigan — like every college football team in the country — is in waiting mode, as all football activities have been shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak.
