A very curious thing has been happening to Michigan football‘s offense: the power running game is going AWAL. It’s strange because the first month or so of the season made us believe this was something the Wolverines would be able to rely on this year. It just hasn’t been there.
That was especially evident against Indiana last weekend, when Jake Rudock was the Wolverines’ leading rusher with 64 yards. The longest non-Rudock run of the day was a 20-yard carry by De’Veon Smith.
Outside of that, it was virtually silent.
Michigan is in astonishingly decent position to win the Big Ten East, but there’s no way that happens if the ground game is still missing in games against Penn State and Ohio State.
