Michigan Football: ESPN reports Jim Harbaugh wanted Josh Gattis earlier

Timing they say is everything. By all accounts, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban was ready to promote Josh Gattis to associate offensive coordinator. Several schools had called to offer Josh their offensive coordinator positions. Michigan football‘s Jim Harbaugh was part of that group.

Gattis was in high demand for his work in Alabama and was also looking for new opportunities to grow his coaching resume.

In the end, Gattis happened to pick Michigan football. Harbaugh agreed to stay out of the way, giving the Wolverines one voice to guide the offense in 2019.
