Michigan football DL coach Shaun Nua says true freshmen will have chance to make two-deep

Shaun Nua was one of the youngest coaches on Michigan football’s staff last season.

That changed during the offseason.

In the blink of an eye, Nua, 40, became the Wolverines’ oldest assistant following a series of coaching changes.

“I’m like, ‘Gosh dang, that sucks!’ ” Nua joked.

Nua isn’t the oldest anymore — that distinction would go to Steve Clinkscale, who was hired in May after Maurice Linguist (also hired this offseason) left to become the head coach at Buffalo — but he’s still making sure he matches “those young guys’ energy.
