Desmond Morgan may be the single-most important player on the defensive side of the ball that Michigan has seen in a long, long time.
From his inside linebacker position, Morgan seems to be all over the field making plays to stop the run as well as disrupting the opponent’s passing attack.
It all came to a head in Saturday’s game against Maryland, where the senior led the team in tackles for the first time this season with nine tackles. Morgan also picked off his first interception of the year and broke up two more passes in the Wolverines’ 28-0 win.
