With Michigan football having a solid stable of running backs geared up for the 2016 season, including senior De’Veon Smith and five-star recruit Kareem Walker, it wasn’t very surprising when Derrick Green decided to transfer shortly after the Wolverines’ 2015 season ended in January.
Green was a former five-star recruit in the 2013 class. He was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 4 running back and No. 27 player overall.
After rushing for 471 yards in only six games in 2014, Green didn’t find very much success in Jim Harbaugh’s first season, only seeing time in nine games and gaining 157 yards.
