There were so many questions as to who would start in the backfield for the Michigan football team. Karan Higdon, a 1,000-yard rusher, graduated and left behind a team in desperate need of a legitimate star to rise from the ashes.
The senior Chris Evans seemed the likely successor, after all, he’s rushed for over 1,700 yards in his three years, including 685 yards and six touchdowns in 2017; both career highs.
And then, the world came crashing down.
Evans was suspended for academics and with his future at the university and in college football, Chris remained optimistic about his chances to return.
