It's officially official.

Jim McElwain is a Michigan football assistant coach. And he'll serve as Jim Harbaugh's wide receivers coach.

The athletic department announced the hire Tuesday afternoon, as McElwain — who was fired in his third year as Florida's head coach in 2017 — takes over for Dan Enos on Harbaugh's staff.

“I am excited to work with this offensive staff and Coach Harbaugh,” McElwain said in a statement.
