What happened with Michigan football recruit JD Johnson was a tough blow, not only for the young quarterback but for the Wolverines too.
Johnson was going to be an important part of adding depth to the quarterback position, which is vital in this new era of the transfer portal. Players at that position tend to leave if they don’t play, so it’s nice to keep the pipeline moving.
However, after Johnson learned he would be unable to play due to medical reasons, that left an opening on the depth chart for the future and right now, it would leave the Wolverines with just three scholarship QBs next season with Dylan McCaffrey, Joe Milton and Cade McNamara.
