On Tuesday, Maryland signed Top100 safety Nick Cross, ensuring Michigan football would hold off Penn State for the Big Ten's top recruiting class in the 2019 cycle.
The Wolverines ended the 2019 class signing 26 prospects from 12 different states, including six from Ohio and four each from Florida and Georgia. While their larger class helped propel them to the top spot in the conference over the Nittany Lions and Ohio State, it's worth noting that U-M's top 17 recruits finished with a higher per-recruit score than either of those two programs. This means Michigan is not only signing a big class, but also a top-heavy class with prospects who could compete early for playing time.
