One of the top-rated commits in Michigan football's 2019 recruiting class is now headed elsewhere.
Stephen Herron Jr., a 4-star defensive end from Louisville, Ky., announced his decision to flip from U-M to Stanford on Monday. Herron, who committed to Michigan last July, rates as the No. 86 player in the 2019 recruiting class.
He was the second-highest ranked player in Michigan's class and one of two top 100 pledges, joining 5-star defensive lineman Chris Hinton.
"Coach (Jim) Harbaugh, coach (Greg) Mattison, coach (Don) Brown and the entijre Michigan coaching staff and crew, I will forever be grateful for your support and the opportunity you offered me," Herron wrote.
