Things started out like it was going to be a special day in Ann Arbor. Michigan football went up 6-0 on the Giles Jackson sweep and the hope began to rise. Then the Buckeyes responded to take a 14-6 lead, but the maize and blue answered with a long drive of their own. That would be the closest the Wolverines would get though. More of the same mistakes that befuddled this team early in the season resurfaced to put the Buckeyes up for good.
The two turning points of the encounter were when Patterson fumbled in the red zone and Haskins got stopped short on fourth and one.
