Of course the weekend after I made this article bi-weekly was busy with the July 4th holiday, but few of the commitments had an impact on Michigan’s top target board. Three-star cornerback Tyreek Chappell committed to Texas A&M, but that is widely seen as a placeholder so you can add him to the growing list of defensive backs committed elsewhere that Michigan will continue to recruit.
Elsewhere, in a bit of schraudenfreude, Michigan made the cut for rising Texas back Tavierre Dunlap while Notre Dame, who considered him second on their board at the position, did not. However, Michigan did miss the top seven for another Texas running back in Cam’Ron Valdez, despite the Wolverines being his first offer.
