Ann Arbor — So much focus this offseason has been on the quarterback situation, and rightfully so, but through the first half of Michigan’s opener against Colorado State, there’s been plenty to observe.
Michigan built a 23-0 lead over the Rams at halftime. Receiver Roman Wilson had a 61-yard touchdown, Blake Corum scored on a 7-yard run, and Jake Moody was 3-for-3 on field goals. Moody's production is a good/bad issue — Michigan had three red-zone opportunities, at the Colorado State 13-, 8- and 16-yard lines and settled for field goals.
First things first, and that’s quarterback Cade McNamara, who helped lead Michigan to a 12-2 record and Big Ten championship last season and was awarded the first start of the season.
