The Michigan Wolverines came up just short in a 89-87 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks in the annual Jimmy V Classic. Michigan came back from an 18-point deficit in the second half but a potential game-tying shot fell short at the buzzer.
Dusty May’s team jumped out to a 29-14 lead but Arkansas took an 80-62 advantage midway through the second half. The Wolverines were able to battle back with a 12-0 run and nearly pulled off a comeback before eventually falling to 8-2.
Michigan center Vlad Goldin totaled a team-best 17 points and nine rebounds, while big man Danny Wolf finished with 14 points, nine assists, and nine rebounds in the loss.
