Kansas City, Mo. — All good things must come to an end.
And Michigan’s incredible NCAA Tournament ride ended Thursday.
In a back-and-forth game that came down to the final shot, senior guard Derrick Walton Jr.’s last-second jumper missed the mark as No. 7 seed Michigan fell short, 69-68, to No. 3 seed Oregon in the Sweet 16 at the Sprint Center.
After a grind-it-out first half in which both offenses were never able to get into a groove, that culminated in a two-point deficit for Michigan (26-12), the points started to quickly pile up in the second half.
