Michigan drops slightly in newest AP Poll following win over Arkansas State

The most recent version of the AP Poll was just released. Following Michigan’s 28-18 victory over Arkansas State, the Wolverines dropped one spot from No. 17 to No. 18 in this week’s poll.

The Wolverines were jumped by Notre Dame, which defeated Purdue, 66-7. Both teams sit at 2-1 and while Michigan has the better loss, Notre Dame has two better wins than Michigan has on its resume.

Michigan’s loss to Texas looks slightly better now as the Longhorns are the new No. 1 team in the country following their 56-7 victory over UTSA. With Georgia squeaking out a win over Kentucky, the Longhorns leapfrogged the Bulldogs for the top spot in the poll.
