Piscataway, N.J. – It was a homecoming for Michigan’s players from New Jersey, and they made it memorable, especially for Jabrill Peppers.
Peppers, who attended Paramus Catholic, scored two touchdowns from the wildcat formation and helped lead fourth-ranked Michigan to a 78-0 demolishing of Rutgers on Saturday.
By the fourth quarter, the first-down watch was on for the Scarlet Knights. Michigan held Pittsburgh to one first down in 1947 but had never held a team without one. Rutgers got its first first down of the game with nine minutes left.
This was Michigan’s second-largest margin of victory since 1920.
