The 6-foot-2, 170-pound defensive back has landed scholarship offers from West Virginia, Louisiana Tech and Toledo, Washington announced Wednesday night on Twitter.
A redshirt sophomore, Washington was expected to compete for playing time in the Michigan secondary this season. He appeared in nine games, primarily on special teams, for the Wolverines in 2016.
It's unclear why Washington decided to transfer. He has not responded to a request for comment.
