J.J. McCarthy's senior season of high school football begins Friday.
And it'll take place on a national stage.
McCarthy, Michigan football's top-ranked commitment in the 2021 class, will lead IMG Academy against Venice (Fla.) High School on Friday night (8 p.m.) in a game that is scheduled to air on ESPNU.
McCarthy, a five-star quarterback ranked No. 16 overall according to 247Sports, will make his anticipated debut with IMG Academy after transferring to the powerhouse this offseason. He previously played at Nazareth (Ill.) Academy, leading the team to one state title and three title game appearances in his time there.
