Pep Hamilton appeared Wednesday with a piece of masking tape affixed to his blue hooded sweatshirt.
On it, written in black marker, read: "Vote Don Brown Asst. Coach of the Year (Broyles)"
Michigan's assistant head coach and passing-game coordinator was openly campaigning for Brown, who was recently named one of 15 finalists for the Broyles Award, handed out annually to the nation's top college football assistant coach.
"The numbers speak for itself," Hamilton told reporters. "I think a big reason our team is in this position is because of the consistency that our defense has had over the years.
