Michigan basketball's upset of UNC at Battle 4 Atlantis garners praise for Juwan Howard

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — Juwan Howard’s Michigan basketball program is on the radar, in case there was any doubt. What the rookie coach did Thursday against fourth-ranked North Carolina and Roy Williams, one of the coaching masters of the game, proves that.

Howard's gritty and determined team upset fourth-ranked North Carolina, 73-64, in the semifinal round of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Six games into his college coaching career, and he's already beating the fifth-winningest coach in college basketball.

“This is all new to me,” he said after the Wolverines won their sixth straight.
