With his Michigan basketball teammates surrounding him at half court and what remained of the Crisler Center crowd listening intently, Jon Teske began his speech.
"I'd first just like to thank my family, especially my mom and dad up there," he said.
The crowd showered applause.
Teske continued. "Just for pushing me — the highs and lows."
Then he stopped again, the words caught in his throat as his eyes welled with emotion.
