Michigan basketball's punishing consistency keys record start

There was no confetti, no celebrations or ceremonies.

Minutes after making school history Sunday night, Michigan's all-business basketball program returned to business as usual.

"We found out we've got practice (Monday) so a lot of faces dropped," junior forward Charles Matthews said with a slight grin. "We're just trying to get prepared for the next one."

That's been the mode all year. One after another after another after another. It happened again Sunday night in Ann Arbor, as the No. 2-ranked Wolverines raced out to an early lead — again — and never looked back during an 80-60 win over Northwestern.
