Michigan basketball's Poole, Brazdeikis earn weekly Big Ten honors

It was a big week for the Michigan basketball team.

The Wolverines rose two spots to No. 5 in the AP Poll after blowing out two ranked opponents.

And two players earned Big Ten honors.

Sophomore guard Jordan Poole was named Big Ten Player of the Week, while freshman forward Ignas Brazdeikis was named Freshman of the Week.

Poole shot the ball extremely well in wins over then-No. 11 North Carolina and then-No. 19 Purdue.

Against the Tar Heels, he scored 18 points while hitting 5-of-8 3s. In Saturday's win over the Boilermakers, he scored a game-high 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting while connecting on all five 3-point attempts.
