Another accolade has come in for Juwan Howard.
The Michigan men's basketball coach was named the Henry Iba National Coach of the Year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) on Friday afternoon.
Howard won the award over three other finalists: Alabama's Nate Oats, Baylor's Scott Drew and Gonzaga's Mark Few.
He is the fifth Michigan coach to receive the national coach of the year award, joining Dave Strack (1965), Johnny Orr (1976, 1977), Bill Frieder (1985) and Steve Fisher (1992), who coached Howard at Michigan. And it is the second such award for Howard this season, as he previously was named the Sporting News National Coach of the Year.
