EAST LANSING — The celebration unfolded with time still left on the clock, and all the visiting team could do was watch as their biggest rival celebrated what could have been theirs.
The Michigan basketball team had a chance to win the program's first Big Ten regular season title in five years by beating No. 9 Michigan State during its senior night.
It would've been a seminal moment in this rivalry's long history and another banner for the Wolverines.
