Michigan coach John Beilein speaks to the media after the 75-69 loss to Penn State on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, in State College, Pa. Orion Sang, Detroit Free Press
He can now joke about it.
Nearly 10 minutes into Friday afternoon's press conference, John Beilein was asked another question about his ejection from Michigan's 75-69 loss at Penn State.
Beilein's response began with a joke.
"We're not letting this drop, are we?" Beilein said. "Must have been a monumental event."
He might have been kidding. But Beilein's ejection Tuesday night was a monumental event — just the second ejection of his career, and his first in 37 years.
