Michigan basketball's Eli Brooks out vs. Wisconsin with broken nose

Michigan basketball's Eli Brooks will not play against Wisconsin due to a broken nose.

The junior guard did not take the court for warmups with his teammates before Thursday night's game in Ann Arbor, and the program announced shortly after that Brooks would not play.

He sustained the nose injury in Saturday's 71-63 win after colliding with Purdue's Nojel Eastern. Brooks did not return.

He had started all 27 games this season for the Wolverines (18-9, 9-7 Big Ten) and averages 11 points, 3.7 rebounds and two assists.

The Wolverines will likely start backup guard David DeJulius in Brooks' place.
