The return of Zavier Simpson willed Michigan basketball to an important resume-building victory on this Saturday afternoon. The senior leader found his teammates time and time again for points in the paint, including several highlight-reel slams. Simpson showcased his talents with 10 assists to regain the trust of his fellow players and stay unbeaten versus Rutgers all time.
Michigan’s defense has really shown up the last week with more of the bend but not break mentality. It forced the Scarlet Knights to 33 percent shooting on the day. Rutgers couldn’t get comfortable enough to get within striking distance.
