When John Beilein first came to Michigan there was a transition period. Beilein has only finished under .500 at Michigan twice and they both came in his first three years as head coach in Ann Arbor. Arguably Michigan’s best player during that time period was shooting guard, Manny Harris. Harris was initially reluctant about coming to Michigan after Tommy Amaker was fired, but stuck with his commitment and had a very good career.
Along with DeShawn Sims, Harris was a big reason why Michigan was able to stay competitive during Beilein’s first few years as he transformed the program.
