The first half looked like it might be a repeat of recent history. Just like the last two ranked opponents Michigan played at home, the Wolverines struggled to make shots and went on long droughts. Purdue attacked the interior early to take the lead for first half. It was a miracle that Michigan was only down by a few baskets at halftime.
Purdue wasn’t too much of a heavy favorite, but looking on paper it could have been bad. Our own Tyler Fenwick even predicted a 27-point loss to the Boilermakers.
