For all intents and purposes, Michigan basketball‘s season was riding on the line Saturday night with the Iowa Hawkeyes coming to town.
Beat the Hawkeyes, a quality opponent inside the RPI top 30, and the selection committee probably favors Michigan. Lose, and there’s an uphill battle that awaits in the Big Ten Tournament because that would mean the Wolverines lost six of their final nine regular season games.
With so much hanging in the balance, Michigan lost, 71-61.
Are you sitting down? The Wolverines attempted 34 shots from behind the arc and only connected on eight of them.
