Earlier this week, Michigan basketball coach Juwan Howard arrived for his postgame news conference in State College, Pennsylvania, a few minutes shy of 11:30 p.m. and fewer than 48 hours before tipoff of his team’s next game against Purdue. Howard, whose Wolverines had erased an 11-point deficit to defeat Penn State and climb back above. 500 in the Big Ten, joked with reporters he hoped there weren’t too many questions at such a late hour.
