PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — A second-half surge carried Michigan basketball past Iowa State, 83-76, on Wednesday in the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
The Wolverines will face the winner of Alabama and No. 4 North Carolina at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
U-M (5-0) shot 57.7% from the field and 47.6% from 3-point range.
The Wolverines trailed by as many as nine early, but eventually took a four-point lead into halftime. They pulled away from the Cyclones (3-2) with an 14-4 run to start the second half and took a 14-point advantage which Iowa State wasn’t able to threaten until the game’s final minute.
