Michigan Basketball survives upset scare, defeats UC San Diego 68-65 in NCAA Tournament opener

The Michigan Wolverines survived a scare from the UC San Diego Tritons in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan squandered a 15-point second half lead and trailed in the final minutes before finding a way to pull out a 68-65 win.

Dusty May’s team got off to a dominant start but poor execution and turnovers allowed UC San Diego to hang around. It appeared the season might come to a disappointing end before the Wolverines finished the game on a 5-0 run to stay alive.

Tre Donaldson continued his memorable March, coming up with another clutch shot to help Michigan secure a victory.
