The Michigan Wolverines looked like they might pull an upset against the No. 6-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish, leading big at halftime 41-29.
Everything seemed to be going Michigan’s way. Derrick Walton looked rejuvenated, making big shots, assisting and rebounding at an insane level. His biggest contribution was on defense, where he racked up 6 steals. Moritz Wagner continued to play like the best big man on the team. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman shined once again. Duncan Robinson and Aubrey Dawkins hit huge shots. Michigan played its best defense of the season in the first half, and not even Notre Dame shooting 59 percent at the half could get them to keep up with the Wolverines.
