When former Michigan basketball standout Moritz Wagner was traded to the Washington Wizards, it didn’t make a lot of headlines.
Yet, last night, in the Wizards win over Minnesota, Wagner did something that hasn’t been done in 17 years and that is score at least 30 points and grab 15 boards off the bench, which Wagner did while also shooting 13-of-15 from the field and 4-of-4 from 3-point range.
If you remember watching Wagner when he played for Michigan basketball, you will remember that he was a bit streaky and when he got hot, he was capable of putting together runs like this, but 30 points and missing just two shots off the bench in an NBA game is incredible.
