When the 2016 Michigan basketball season ended, the Wolverines seemed like they were going to be over-committed in terms of scholarships. Now, after four transfers, including Kameron Chatman, who announced his intent to transfer Tuesday, Michigan head coach John Belien has two openings — and some depth issues.
“Retention is still … things happen in May,” Beilein said to the Detroit Free Press.”Things happen in May, so we’re still working on all of those things.”
Of course, losing Chatman wouldn’t hurt nearly as bad if the Aubrey Dawkins, Ricky Doyle and Spike Albrecht hadn’t all decided to leave Michigan basketball after the season.
