The Michigan basketball team didn’t necessarily play its best game of the season Thursday night at Illinois. But in the end, it didn’t matter. All that mattered was the Wolverines outscored Illinois 79-69 when the final buzzer finally sounded, giving UM its second-ever 16-0 start.
While the Wolverines definitely allowed the Fighting Illini to hang around longer than some might have expected, when you play in the Big Ten conference, there is no such thing as an easy win.
But after a 7-0 start, Michigan basketball once again led wire-to-wire for yet another road win, its third of the season and second in Big Ten play.
