Michigan basketball gets in NCAA tournament as No. 11 seed, will play Colorado State

A long weekend of watching and waiting ended joyfully for Michigan basketball, which survived the volatility of the bubble to earn an at-large berth in the NCAA tournament.

The Wolverines are the No. 11 seed in the South region and will face 6-seeded Colorado State in the Round of 64. The game is scheduled for Thursday at the Gainsbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Sunday’s announcement was likely met with equal parts excitement and relief for a team that began the season ranked in the top 10 and was viewed by many as the favorite to win the Big Ten.
