Michigan basketball comes up short, loses to No. 7 Purdue, 70-69

A free throw by Purdue's 7-foot-2 center, Isaac Haas, was the difference.

Michigan lost, 70-69, to the seventh-ranked Boilermakers on Tuesday night at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.

With four seconds left, Moe Wagner was called for a foul, sending Haas to the free-throw line. Haas made the first, but missed the second.

Charles Matthews missed a desperation heave, and Michigan suffered its first loss at home this season.

Zavier Simpson led the Wolverines with 15 points and six rebounds. Matthews finished with 14 points and seven rebounds and Wagner chipped in 11 points and six rebounds.
